Pseudomyopia correction

Refractive Correction: In some cases, providing temporary corrective lenses, such as low-powered plus lenses, can help alleviate the symptoms of pseudomyopia and reduce the accommodative strain. These lenses can be prescribed based on the individual's visual needs and may be worn for a specific duration until the symptoms subside.

Vision Therapy: Vision therapy may be recommended in cases where pseudomyopia persists or is recurrent. Vision therapy involves a series of exercises and activities aimed at improving the coordination and flexibility of the eyes' focusing system. It can help retrain the visual system, reduce accommodative spasm, and improve visual comfort.

Lifestyle Modifications: Patients with pseudomyopia should be encouraged to adopt healthy visual habits. This includes maintaining proper posture while reading or using electronic devices, ensuring appropriate lighting conditions, taking regular breaks, and practicing good visual hygiene.

Follow-Up Examinations: Regular follow-up visits to an eye care professional are important to monitor the progress of pseudomyopia correction and make any necessary adjustments to the treatment plan.

It's essential to address the underlying causes of pseudomyopia, such as excessive near work and accommodative strain, to prevent its recurrence. By implementing appropriate measures and making lifestyle modifications, individuals with pseudomyopia can experience relief from their symptoms and regain clear distance vision.
